Punya Tithi of Deen Dayal Upadhyay

Today is the ‘Punya Tithi’ of Great Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya (1916 – 1968) was an eminent political personality and a profound philosopher. He was an organizer par excellence and a prominent leader of ‘Jan Sangh’ who maintained the highest standards of personal integrity. Pandit Deendayal has been the source of ideological guidance and moral inspiration for the ‘Bharatiya Janata Party’ (BJP) since its inception. His treatise on ‘Integral Humanism’, is a critique of both communism and capitalism, advocating a holistic alternative perspective for political action and statecraft consistent with the laws of creation and the universal needs of the human race. His philosophy of ‘Ekatma Manavvad’ is very much relevant so far as the economic well-being of our society is concerned. I offer my ‘Pranam’ to the sacred soul of Hindustan on his holy ‘Punya-Tithi’.
